Dorwin D. Byrd Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorwin D. Byrd (Bluefield, West Virginia), who passed away on March 16, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Franklin Byrd and Claire Sizemore Byrd; and his brother Franklin Fred Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Herndon Byrd; his daughters, Laura Leigh Byrd-Poszich (Jereomy) and Alison Renee Reed (Michael); his grandchildren, Clayden Tyler Byrd, Gabriel Orian Reed, Radien Michael Bjoin Reed and Veronika Audrey Briann Reed; his sister Nancy Byrd Moses; and his siblings-in-law, Ronnie Herndon and Barabara Herndon Bailey (Rusell). He is also survived by cousins, nieces and great-nieces and nephew.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home (3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Bluewell United Methodist Church's general fund.
