He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Fannie; his sisters, Tammy and Rosa Leigh; his wife Sharon; his father Billy Shinault; his children, Billy (Amanda) and Crystal; his siblings, Cary (Dee), Bobby (Donna), Margie (David) and Renee (Gary); his grandchildren, Keith (Hannah), Elijah, Destiny, Kennedi, Lincoln and Monroe; and his great grandchildren, Hazleigh, Hudson and Baby Teagan.
