It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David L. Harris of Bluefield, West Virginia, who passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though David may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackson Levi Harris and Mary Katherine Muncy Harris; his wife Mary "Stacy" Kyle Harris; and his siblings, Everett Harris, Cecil Harris, Ronald Harris, Joseph Harris, Sarah Boice, Marjorie Hartery and Freda Evans.
He is survived by: his sisters, Frances "Fran" Taylor of Stafford, VA and Anna Frye of Fort Worth, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel (1231 W Cumberland Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
