He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl V. Gibson and Gertrude Damron Gibson; and his wife Delana Sutphin Gibson. He is survived by: his aunts, Frances Damron, Dorothy Kilgore and Patricia Muncy; his stepson David Walsh (Terri); his stepgrandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Richard Walsh (Bonnie), James, Thomas, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Suzanne Cruise (Kevin), Terri Polinsky (Vinnie), Kaitlyn, Eric and Lillian; his siblings-in-law, Sylvia Wimmer (Raymond), Linda Modena (Ralph), Betty Thomas (Charles) and Jimmy Sutphin (Debbie); and his cousins, Lori Dameron and Sue Stamper.
