He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Johnson Cox and Maude Marie Meadows Cox; his children, Mark Cox and Lisa Lilly; and his siblings, Elwood, Hershell, Eugene, Howard Cox and Rosella Lilly.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Chapman Cox; his son Randy Cox of Shady Spring; his siblings, Maxine Crews of Beaver and Melvin Cox of Beaver; and also Darrell Cox (Marilyn) of Mocksville, NC.. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
