He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester, Sr. Whipple and Ruth Whipple; his brothers, Lester, Edward and Newton Whipple; his sons, Stephen Whipple (Joyce) and Jonathan Clegg; and his grandson Mark Clegg.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Atkins-Whipple; his sons, Warren Jr., Timothy, James David (Imelda), Daniel (Jasmine) and Isaac; and his sister Carol Norris (David). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
