He was predeceased by: his parents, Gardner Isaac Cain, Sr. and Clara Ellen Householder Cain; and his siblings, Pauline Virginia Bechtol, Gardner Isaac "Junior" Cain, Jr., Herbert "Ike" Cain, Melvin "Pooch" Cain, Charles "Bill" Cain and Sylvester Cain.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Clara Hewett Cain; and his children, Virgie Faye Bunker (Andrew) of Berkeley Springs, Pearl Rebecca "Becky" Golden of Berkeley Springs, Virgil Franklin Cain, Jr. of Berkeley Springs, Retha Helen Porterfield (Joe) of Romney, WV, Roseanna Shank (Darin) of Warfordsburg, PA and George Andrew Cain of Wheeling, WV. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
