He was predeceased by: his parents, Berkeley Carter and Martha Ellen Barney VanGosen; and his siblings, Fairy Jean Oyerly, Ethel Bent, Biddy Courtney, Phyllis Wills, Clyde VanGosen, Pete VanGosen, Bobby VanGosen and Richard VanGosen.
He is survived by: his children, Janice Lorraine Thompson (Ted) of Berkeley Springs, Sarita Elaine Bowers (Dave) of Berkeley Springs and Justin Ryan Brant (Tara) of Felton, DE; his siblings, Betty Burton of Berkeley Springs, Nancy Havermale of Berkeley Springs and Ronald VanGosen of Berkeley Springs; his grandchildren, Jacqueline Garman (Keith Bowers), Kenny (Kelly Bowers), Miles and Henry (Wyatt Brant); and his great grandchildren, Adyn Laird of Berkeley Springs, Brantlee Bowers of Berkeley Springs, Madox Garman of Berkeley Springs, Ava of Hedgesville, Hailey of Hedgesville, Brooklyn of Hedgesville and Owen Bowers of Hedgesville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
