Larry Gilbert left this world on January 31, 2025 at the age of 77, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Roscoe "Buddy" and Agnes LaVerne Shives Barney; his wife Nancy Lou Fox Barney; and his siblings, Janet LaVerne Bearup, Pamela Jean Shanholtz and Randy Allen Barney.
He is survived by: his children, Misty Lyne Keefer (Jeffery) of Berkeley Springs, WV, Larry Gilbert "Jay" Barney, Jr. (Dawn) of Berkeley Springs, WV and Moria Leigh Fox (Jeremy) of Berkeley Springs, WV; his brother Rusty Jay Barney of Berkeley Springs, WV; his grandchildren, Jeffery Keefer, Jr. (Victoria), Amanda Elizabeth Goshorn (Shawn), Matthew James Keefer (Brianna Florian), Larry Jay Barney (Holly), Levi Hunter Barney (Alexis), Brooke Renae Souders (Brady), Savannah Leigh Fontaine (Nicholas) and Jeremy Steven Fox, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Colson Lee Souders, Gracelynn Leigh Fontaine, Amelia Belle Bebb, Kaisley Mae Barney, Walker Jay Barney, Blake Matthew Walter, Kyra Lou Barney, Carson Nathanael Keefer, Jenna Nicole Keefer, Jackie Lauren Keefer and Landon Cole Goshorn; and his close friend Lacy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his faithful fur baby.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center (95 Union St, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411). A memorial service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
