He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Marshall and Ethel Lee Crouse Hiles; his wife Winifred Ruth Holliday; his sons, John Thomas Hiles, Jr. and Michael Lenwood Hiles; and his siblings, Betty Farris, Ruth Costello, Eva Kidwell, Harry Hiles, Jimmy Hiles, Jesse Hiles, Leroy Hiles and Jack Hiles.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela Elaine Hiles; and his siblings, Linda Lyons of Berkeley Springs, Curtis Hiles of Manassas, VA and Danny Hiles of Manassas, VA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
