He was predeceased by: his parents, John Roberts and Dorothy Gorman Bowers; his grandson John Robert Bowers IV; and his siblings, Sharon Davis, Pauline Brown and Joseph Bowers.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Lynn Ridenour Bowers; and his children, Julie Ann Hess (John Barber) of Augusta, WV, Jessica Rose Kerns (Donnie) of Berkeley Springs, WV, John R. "Bo" Bowers, III of Berkeley Springs, WV, Joseph Edward Bowers of Berkeley Springs, WV and Joshua Michael Bowers (Gabby) of Winchester, VA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center (95 Union St, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
