He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alfred Reed, Sr. and Etta Cook Reed. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Mae Clarkson Reed; his children, Janet Szalontay of Boca Raton, FL and Kenneth Szalontay of Surfside Beach, SC; and his sisters, Joan Jones of Germantown, OH and Judith Katona of Trenton, NJ. He is also survived by two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
