He was predeceased by: his parent Charles Gipe; his foster parents, Crowder Hartman and Rosanell Hartman; and his brother Stanley Hartman of Short Gap, WV. He is survived by: his parent Lillie Hartman; his wife Iris N. Hockman; and his daughter Sharon Masters of Middletown, VA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.
