With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Georgia LaVerne Long of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, born in Spring Gap, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 15, 2024 at the age of 91. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Georgia LaVerne may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Frederick and Ollie Rinker Bishop; her husband Gary Duane Long; her son Eugene Duane Long; and her brother James "Sonny" Bishop.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Alan Long (Pat), Deborah Moore (Roger) and Sandra Strakal; her daughter-in-law Penny Long; and her siblings, Dessie Powell, Robert Bishop and Thomas Bishop. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
