He was predeceased by: his parents, John Colbert and Martha Nash Colbert; and his siblings, Patricia Stone, Paula Tancready and Jack Colbert.
He is survived by: his wife Ella Louise Hall Colbert; his stepson Bruce Colbert of Oberlin, OH; and his sister Nancy Martin of Glen Burnie, MD. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
