He was predeceased by: his parents, Tessie McDonald (Sims) and Roy McDonald; his wife Wendy McDonald; and his brother-in-law Clark Powell (Molly). He is survived by: his siblings, Phyllis Bumgarner, Joyce Petty, Robert "Bob" McDonald (Teresa) and Richard McDonald (Judy); his brother-in-law Carl Powell; his children, Ron McDonald (Kelly), Lisa Cross and Tina Kocher (Alex); and his grandchildren, Megan Cross, Tiffany Baldwin, Ashley Rhoten (Scott), Katie McDonald (David), Taylor McDonald (Jeffrey), Tyler McDonald (Pam) and Tressa Forshey.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Belleville Homecoming Committee, c/o Debra Buckley, 998 Middle Fork Lee Creek Road, Belleville, WV 26133, as Lloyd was a frequent visitor to the festival.
