It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Marie Smith of Belleville, West Virginia, who passed away on February 22, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald A. Flinn and Isabelle E. Staats Flinn; her husband William D. "Bill" Smith; her son Paul Smith (Sue); her grandson Timothy Alan Smith; and her siblings, Pat Flinn, Donnie J. Flinn, Bobby P. Flinn and Eugene Flinn.

She is survived by: her children, Wilma Knapp (Carroll) of Granville, OH, Betty Jean Maxwell of Belleville, WV, Sharon Smith (Greg) of Sandyville, WV, Connie Chambers (Jay) of Ravenswood, WV, Mary Ann Knapp (Gregg) of Belleville, WV, Neal Smith of Fort Gay, WV and Tim Smith (Kimberly) of Belleville, WV; and her close friend Sarah Galland. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

“Betty was a friend to me. I met her back in the mid 90's. I admired her. We spent a few times visiting together over the years, just sitting and talking. She made some of the best homemade bread I ever ate. She was kind, and really made me feel welcome, and I enjoyed her company. She loved her family,and enjoyed them. Rest in peace Betty.”
