He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Atkins; his parents, Archie Sr. Atkins and Pearl Asbury Atkins; and his siblings, Dennis Atkins Sr., Archie Atkins Jr., Lionel Atkins, Joanne Gibbs, Delores Miller, Eleanor 'Peggy Tawney, Alice Jameson, Shirley Good and Regina Chestnut.
He is survived by: his children, Norvell Ray Atkins Jr. (Angela) of Belle, Shavonna Mortimer of Belle and Terri Tuttle of Dupont City; his siblings, Curtis Atkins (Dorothy) of Washington, Betty Newman (Ray) of Belle, Carolyn Tawney of Pennsylvania and Patricia Moore of Rayland, Ohio; and his grandchildren, David Mullins, Jeremiah Coleman, Stacey Jeffries, Zhazaunna Tuttle, Cheyanne Tuttle and Josiah Atkins. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
