He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Junior and Pearl Atkins Halstead; his wife Linda McDaniel; his son Allen Barefield; his grandchildren, Dale Barefield and Angela Roberts; his siblings, Carl, Bill McDaniel and Vonna Dangerfield; and his mother-in-law Ruby McDaniel.
He is survived by: his children, April Vance (Tommy) of Big Chimney, Kim Moles (Glen) of Malden, Becky Springsten (Dave) of Malden and Herbie Barefield (Loretta) of Dawes; his grandchildren, TJ, Trevor of Big Chimney, Curtis of Colorado, Haylea of Malden, Amy of Malden, Larna of Malden, Jessica of Malden, Darren, Sueann of Dawes, Lil Allen of Belle, Josh of Belle and Penny of Belle; his brother Rick McDaniel of Malden; his siblings-in-law, Judy Green (Timmy), Cecil McDaniel (Janet) of Malden and Darrell McDaniel (Alma) of Malden; and his close friends, Chris, Jennifer Vance, Tom and Frances Vance. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren.
