He was predeceased by: his wife Penny Dotson; his parents, Frederick K. Dotson and Gertrude A. Taylor Dotson; and his grandparents, D. A. and Delphia Davis.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Beth Carr of East Liverpool, Ohio; his siblings, Greg Dotson (Debi) of Columbus, Ohio and Michele Dotson of Charleston; his stepgrandchildren, Harley Carr and A. J. Ellison; his nieces, Megan Dotson, Emily Dotson and Kelsey Sears; and his great-nephew Landyn Sears.
