He was predeceased by: his wife Katharine Ann King Atkins; his daughter Christine Snyder; his grandsons, Chet Atkins and Arthur Snyder; his parents, Archie Atkins Sr. and Lulah Pearl Asbury Atkins; and his siblings, Regina Chestnut, Jo Ann Gibbs, Peggy Tawney and Lionel Eugene Atkins.
He is survived by: his children, Lionel Atkins (Kathy) of Radcliff, Kentucky and Rhonda Atkins (Tom) of Loudendale; and his siblings, Curtis of Washington, Dennis of Elkview, Norvell of Belle, Delores Miller of Sissonville, Betty Newman of Belle, Shirley Good of South Charleston, Carolyn Tawney of North Carolina and Patricia Moore of Rayland. He is also survived by six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
