Michael Floyd Wolfe Obituary
Michael Floyd Wolfe, 66, of Belington, WV, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, after a short but courageous brain cancer battle.
Mike was born January 23, 1956, in Philippi, WV, to the late Dorsey Wolfe Sr and Carrie Mae Wolfe.
He married his high school sweetheart, Debbie Diana Wolfe (Stemple), whom he married on June 23, 1978, who survives at home.
Also surviving are his two sons, Michael Garrett Wolfe of Myrtle Beach and Ryan Barry Wolfe, and fiancé Buffie Ward of Belington; two grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Rylan Ray Wolfe and Michaelan Marie Wolfe; a special Aunt Beck Irvine; cousins Chris and Jean Irvine, and brothers, Delmar, Dorsey Jr., Barry, and families.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Moats, brother Kenny Wolfe, in-law parents Robert (Bob Evans) and Janet Stemple, two aunts, Genevieve Godwin and Katherine McVicker; and Uncle Neil Irvine.
He graduated from Philip Barbour High School in 1976 and started his working career at Anderson Broaddus College before starting his professional career for many years at Poling Trucking. He then worked construction for Auvil Homes before beginning a career in water & wastewater treatment for the city of Belington before retiring at the age of 65 as the wastewater superintendent for the city of Elkins.
Mike continued his lifelong hard work caring for his farm and many neighbors' farms. During his son's early years, he was highly involved in Belington Little League and Jerry West Basketball. If he wasn't working, you could find him outdoors fishing, hunting, watching WVU or Pittsburgh sports, or Gunsmoke.
Per his wishes for cremation will be honored. Kittle Family Funeral Home, 265 Beech Ave., Philippi is honored to be assisting the Wolfe family with his arrangements. His family will coordinate a private celebration of life at a later date.
