Homer Wesley Eblin Obituary
Homer Wesley Eblin, age 77, a resident of Belington WV., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 12, 2023, in his home under the care of Mountain Hospice, with his family by his side. He had been in declining health; however, his death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born on July 20, 1945, in Pomeroy, OH., a son to the late Ben Eblin and Marcella (Mutzer) Eblin.
On September 26, 1990, he married the love of his life and best friend, the former Delores Ware who survives at their home.
Homer leaves behind his children; Thomas Edward Swick, and wife Andrea, Timmy Lee Swick, Tammy Marie Swick several grandchildren; sister; Bonnie Eblin.
He was preceded in death by his daughter; Mary Elizabeth Statton,, several brothers and sisters.
Homer was a truck driver, worked for Here and There Transit for four years, and he was always ringing the bell near Christmas time for the Salvation Army which loved to do every year. He was a member of the Philippi Church of God, and on Wednesday's him and his wife would help the church with Larry's Lunch by spreading butter on the bread. Homer played jokes on people, he enjoyed watching Nascar, and he loved listening to gospel music. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Mr. Eblin's request for cremation will be honored. A celebration of his life will be Saturday, March 18, 2023, at noon from the Philippi Church of God, 97 North High St. Philippi, WV., with Pastor Joe Palmer as the celebrant. The Kittle Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
