He was predeceased by: his parents, Alleene Hilda Brown and Charles Edward Burcaw; his wife Rosalie Corley Burcaw; and his brothers, Stewart, James and Lowell Thomas Burcaw.

He is survived by: his nieces, Lisa, Mary and Debbie Jefts; his nephew David Burcaw of Cumberland, Maryland.; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sarah Jensen, Cailey McGlaughlin, Anna Jensen, Douglas Burcaw, Eric Jefts and Joshua McGlaughlin.
