It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl George Chewning (Belington, West Virginia), born in Elkins, West Virginia, who passed away on December 4, 2022, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Lee and Catherine Louise George Chewning; his close friend Clara Lee Cross Jarvis; his brother Robert Lynn "Bob" Chewning; and his half-sister Joan Baranek.
He is survived by: his siblings, Russell Lee Chewning, Rosie Chewning Russell (Ben) of Rockingham, VA and Cathy Elaine Chewning Campbell (Bob) of French Creek, WV; his half-siblings, Elvalee George Dobrin of Reynoldsville, OH, Sandra Thomas Herston of Canal Fulton, OH and Roemer Lynn Chewning of Tallmadge, OH.; and his children, Lisa Westfall (Pawnie), Margaret Talbert (Roger, Jr) and Johnny Jarvis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a whole host of friends.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to The St. Jude's Children Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.
