She was predeceased by: her former husband Clarence Lester; her husband Kermit Smith; and her brothers, Levi and Exodus. She is survived by: her children, Thomas Duncan, Tenisia "Sissy" Jarrell, Teresa Duncan and Marylou Duncan; her grandchildren, Nicole McBride, Cecil Jarrell, William McBride Savannah and James Rice; and her sisters, Sylvia, Emma Jean and Barbara. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
