He is survived by: his wife Margaret Merline Adkins Brown; his daughter Deborah Couto (Timothy) of North Carolina; and his brothers, Tom Brown of Missouri and Jerry Brown of Florida. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
