He is survived by: his grandchildren, Janice Nicely (Hoskins), Georgina Zyto (Hoskins), Patricia Ann Hoskins and Harold Gene Hoskins; his wife Peggy Hoskins; his children, Rebecca Lynn (Herbert "Bert" Beadle, III) and Stephen Smith; his brothers, Howard Hoskins (Patricia) and Harry Hoskins (Nancy); his grandchildren, Derek Smith (Beverly), Herbert "Alan" Beadle, IV and Mary Ruth Beadle (Daniel); and his sister-in-law Jean Ormandy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Melton Mortuary Chapel (1200 Harper Rd, Beckley, WV 25801). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens (5250 Robert C Byrd Dr, Mt Hope, WV 25801).
