He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Brown and Joyce Combs Simpson Brown of Tennessee; his grandparents, Okie and Charity Combs; and his former wife Cathy Jo Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Julia White Simpson of Beckley; his daughter Stephanie Cooper (Starlin "Cooper") of Sophia; his grandchildren, Aleigha Evans (Chase) of Prosperity, Raegan Richardson, Mia Vannatter and Maverick Cooper; his great grandchild Kenzleigh Evans of Prosperity; his brother Timothy Brown (Kim) of Morristown, TN; his niece Ashley Kilgore (Jeff); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ellie and Oakley of Morristown, TN.
