It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Roscoe Layton Sr. of Bayard, West Virginia, who passed away on July 24, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elgin Layton and Sue Hoyt Layton (Boring). He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise Layton (Cosner); his children, Martha Ann Layton of Bayard and George R. Layton, Jr. (Ginny) of Fairmont, WV.; his grandchildren, Jason Scripp (Jackie) of Scottdale, PA, Chris Layton (Laura Bunner) of Tampa, FL, Ross Layton (Jamie) of Fairmont, WV and McKenzie Wotring of Oakland, MD.; and his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Scripp of Connellsville, PA, Annelyse, Avery Layton of Tampa, FL, Grady and Silas Layton of Fairmont, WV.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
