It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Millard Lee Mackey Sr. of Barrackville, West Virginia, who passed away on January 23, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Mackey and Annie Marie Kyle Mackey; his wife Joan E. Darcus Mackey; his stepmother Naomi Hall Mackey; his stepsister Wendy Mackey; and his goddaughter Deborah Jo Beafore Turner.
He is survived by: his children, Millard Mackey Jr. of Worthington, Loretta Wharton Thomas of Chicago, IL, Brenda Mackey of Fairmont, Linda Mackey of Barrackville, Anna Marie Mackey of Laurel, MD, Misty Mackey (Howard Aiken) of Laurel, MD and Carol Armstead Murphy (Elijah) of Kenansville, NC; his sister Anette Marie Mackey Taylor of Fairmont; his grandchildren, Jacinta Thornton (Nikki) of Raleigh, NC, Jason Mackey, Jamie Mackey of Fairmont, Natasha Hernandez (Edin) of Laurel, MD, Avery Aiken of Laurel, MD, Janelle Freeman of Greenville, NC, Joy Freeman of Fairmont and Latasha Freeman of Kenansville, NC; his great grandchild Sedrick McGlaston of Barrackville; his grandchildren, Elena, Jacob, Matthew Millard, Cristiano Hernandez of Laurel, MD, Precious, Janyra, Malachi, Ajania, Myrical and Josiah of Fairmont; his siblings-in-law, Linda Darcus Meeks of Barrackville and Clarence Darcus (Rose Ann) of Lancaster, PA; his goddaughter Cynthia E. Darcus of Fairmont; and his stepsister Tomasena Mackey Enoch of Wilkes-Barre, PA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
