She was predeceased by: her parents, Sherman Junior and Frances Gibson Mays of Virginia; her former husband James L. Closson; and her husband James R. Whitlatch. She is survived by: her daughter Kemberley Shepphard; her grandchildren, John D, James W. Closson, Jimmy L. Shepphard and Amanda N. Stevens; her great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Brodi Closson, Kinley, Adlee Shepphard, Harper Stevens, Kierra Moore and Isiah Bowyer; and her siblings, Linda Sawitski, Penny Ammons and Sherman Junior Mays, II.
