He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Chafin and Viola Tate Chafin; and his siblings, Mary Ellen Murphy and Earl Chafin. He is survived by: his wife Minnie Lou Blankenship of Barboursville, WV; his children, LuAnn Glockner (Jim) of Ashland, KY and Samuel Ronald Chafin, II (Shari); his sister June Hammond (Joe) of College Park, MD; his grandchildren, Allison Glockner, Walter, Abbey, Sydney Chafin and Jacob Filkins; and his great grandchild Elva Filkins.
