She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Hoy and Ruth Elizabeth McDowell-Sommerville; her husband John N. Townsend; her sisters, Mary Frances Sommerville-Harman (Laird) and Betty Jo Sommerville-Kimble (George) of Ceredo, WV; and her daughter-in-law Shellye Ann Horn-Townsend.
She is survived by: her son Douglas B. Townsend of Cincinnati, OH; and her brother William H. Sommerville (Freda) of Barboursville, WV. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
