He was predeceased by: his brother James Murphy; his grandson Daniel Patrick Murphy; and his brother-in-law Samuel Higgins. He is survived by: his wife Dolores "Dee" Murphy; his parents, Daniel Murphy and Joyce Murphy; his sons, Matthew Eric Murphy (April), Daniel Patrick Murphy (Brooke) and Justin Michael Murphy (Anna); his grandchildren, Briana Murphy, Maddy Murphy, Eleanor Murphy and Fiona Murphy; and his siblings, Katherine Gross (Steve), Meghan Porco (Tony), Christine Schramm (Dave), Maureen Lucas, Molly Murphy, John Murphy (Rose), Bernard Murphy and Terry Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
