He was predeceased by: his close friend Betty Cannon; his siblings, Doris Winters and Roy Childers; his parents, Roy Childers and Gertrude Ellen Coyner Childers; and his son Donald Adams of Barboursville, WV.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Sanders (Tom) of Barboursville, WV, Phillip Childers (Karen) of Salisbury, NC, Paula and Rick Childers (Marsha) of Huntington, WV; and his brother Gary Childers of Huntington, WV. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
