He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Wesley Peer and Ida Saville Peer; his wife Carolyn D. Peer (Youngblood); his son James Bruce Peer; his siblings, Ray Peer, Floyd Peer and Irene Lofton; and his nephew Bobby Peer.
He is survived by: his children, Judy C. Schrock of Gore, VA, Nancy G. Hatch of Virginia Beach, VA, Kathy Sue Large of Virginia Beach, VA, Danny Peer of Augusta, WV and Glenn Peer of Savannah, GA; his brothers, Rufus Peer of Uniontown, PA and Ansel "Dick" Peer of Capon Bridge, WV; and his nephew Paul Peer. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
