She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Viands and Virginia Alice Woodward Viands; her husband Robert H. Owens; and her grandson Chucky Orum. She is survived by: her children, Charlene Loy (Jake) of Augusta, WV, Betty Owens of Winchester, VA and Robert Owens of Winchester, VA; her grandchildren, Charles Orum, Jessica Souders, Amanda Orum, Christina Carter, Chris Orum, Grace Owens, Jay Fricke and Ty Fricke; and her siblings, Nancy Luttrell of Cross Junction and Lewis Viands, Jr. of Mannings, WV. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
