He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Lewis and Clara Blanche Runyon Nicholson; his brother Leonard Dewayne Nicholson; and his half-brother Delbert Nicholson, Jr.. He is survived by: his sisters, Becky Nicholson and Dolly Hickman; and his half-sisters, Barbara Sue Hamond and Sandra Hess. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
