We bid farewell to Melvin Hays of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 28, 2025 at the age of 82. Melvin touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Jackson and Mildred Snodgrass Hays; his siblings, Carl Hays, Bill Hays, Dan Hays and Eleanor Hays Smith; and his grandson Travis.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Church Hays; his sons, Jeff Hays (Glenna) and Kevin Hays (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kyle, Brittany, Holly and Kevin, Jr.; his great grandchild Maeson; and his siblings, Patti Keough (Jack) and Larry Hays (Margaret).

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc. (1440 Arnoldsburg Rd, Spencer, WV 25234). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
