It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta Jean Slayton of Apple Grove, West Virginia, who passed away on July 7, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Lawrence Wears and Earthley Wears (Wamsley); her husband Walter L. Slayton; her siblings, Dimple Pasko, Linda Taylor and Carl "Juke" Wears; and her great grandchild Jozee Ryder Craig.
She is survived by: her children, Walter L. Slayton Jr. of Southside, Scott E. Slayton of Apple Grove and Melissa S. Slayton of Apple Grove; her grandson Walter L. Slayton III; her great grandchildren, Elijah Connolly, Caleb Connolly, Autum Craig, Sean Craig and Allienanna Presley; and her sister Alta Glover of Southside.
