It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thurmond Allen Wamsley (Ansted, West Virginia), born in Ronceverte, West Virginia, who passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Thomas and Laura Ellen Wamsley (Hanna); his wife Viola "Via" Marie Wamsley; and his siblings, Harley Thomas Wamsley, Glen Wamsley, Flora Burns, Katheryn Napier and Frances Jackson.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Hughart (Lyndon) of Clintonville, Sharon Wamsley of Renick and Samuel Wamsley (Mindy) of Asbury; his grandchildren, AJ Wamsley (Kendra), Dirk Hughart, Marie Wamsley (Pedie), Wesley Hughart (Via) and Hunter Wamsley; and his great grandchildren, Leeland, Cannon, Remington, Jackson and Jessie. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Wallace & Wallace of Lewisburg, WV, to go towards funeral expenses.
