James E. Layton Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James E. Layton (Ansted, West Virginia), who passed away on January 24, 2025 at the age of 63. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother-in-law Ruth Bennett; his daughter Rebecca Horn; his parents, John Layton, Jr. and Irene Layton; and his siblings, John Layton (Buddy), Carol Woods, Donna McKinney, Dorothy Gill, Linda Layton and JoAnn Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Layton; his children, Luke Morehead (Jessica), Darren Morehead (Amanda) and Brittany Layton; his sister Betty Eastman; his father-in-law David Bennett; his sister-in-law Cindy Chapmen (Eric); and his grandchildren, Gracie, Kaylynn, Carson, Everest and Juniper. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ansted Chapel (74 Holley St, Ansted, WV 25812). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
