She was predeceased by: her parents, Elvin Skaggs and Ruby Morton Skaggs; her husband David; her daughter Kimbra Hess Hobbs; and her brothers, Elvin "Scooter" Skaggs, Jerry Skaggs and John Skaggs.
She is survived by: her children, David Michael, Lesa Hess of Beckley, Mark, Teana Hess of Loudendale and Bonita Hess of South Charleston; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Adam Hensley, Alicia Conklin, Cody Schultz, Jessica, Dan Wallen, Nathan, Lizzy Hess, Michael Bryson and Shakeria Hess; her great grandchildren, Isaac, Caleb, Hannah Hensley, Evelyn Conklin, Hunter Wallen, Beckham Hess, Xyla James and Oakley Hess; and her friend David Lambert.
She had been actively involved in community service groups through the Angels, RSVP, and AARP.
