It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Brenda Bonita McVey of Ansted, West Virginia, born in Montgomery, West Virginia, who passed away on October 18, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow Brackens and Martha Grose Brackens; her husband Raymond "Nick" McVey, Jr.; her brothers, Robert Brackens, Arch Brackens and Woodrow Kent Brackens; her brother-in-law Andy Barnett; and her niece Wendy Sue Barnett.

She is survived by: her children, Mark McVey of Ocala, Pam Brattleaf (McVey) of Morton Grove and Stacey McVey of Ansted; her granddaughters, Tammy Slayton of Ansted and Kathy Kelly of Grove City, Pennsylvania; her sister Carrie Barnett of Kuttawa, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Misty Dawn, Kyle, Nicky, Bree and Bode; and her great grandchild Jayden.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
