It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Opal Elizabeth Preston of Amherstdale, West Virginia, born in Pikeville, Kentucky, who passed away on March 25, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Herbert Spencer Pruitt; her grandchildren, Gabe Lyall and Olivia Lyall; and her sister Veronica Pruitt. She is survived by: her mother Sarah Margaret Pruitt (Mitchem); her husband Donald Preston of Amherstdale; her children, Joshua Lyall of Beckley, Stephen Preston of Heron Lake, MN, Jillian Preston of Troy, VA and Lawra Woods of Amherstdale; her grandchildren, Christopher Preston, Brianna Preston, Patrick Preston and Jenna Jenniges of Heron Lake, MN; and her siblings, Herbie Pruitt of Accoville, Johnny Pruitt of Accoville, Sharon Restivo of SanAntonio Tx and Mary Ann Donley of Amherstdale.
In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Paw Squad or any animal shelter.
