He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Chafin and Mildred Aldridge Chafin; and his sisters, Edith Nunn, Patricia Barker and Gloria Duncan.
He is survived by: his wife Faye; his children, Monica Priestley (Dave) and Todd Chafin (Andrea); his grandchildren, Sydney and Ian Chafin; his brother Clifford "Skip" Chafin; and his nephew Olin Jones.
