He was predeceased by: his son Kenny Whitten; his parents, Kenneth Whitten and Hazel Bays Whitten; and his siblings, Barry, Roger Whitten and Sharon Baisden.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Cummings Whitten; his children, Sue McComas of Griffithsville, Donnie Whitten (Shawnda) of Yawkey and Michael Whitten of Griffithsville; his brother Ronald Whitten (Katherine) of Griffithsville; and his grandchildren, Nick Whitten, Brady (Sydney), Carson, Carly McComas, Annie (Justin), Garrett, Michael II (Cheyanne), Wade, Joe Whitten and Alex Prince of Uneeda. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
