It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jaybird Maynard of Alpoca, West Virginia, who passed away on August 1, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Claude Fairchild Maynard and Edna Alice Lester Maynard; his sisters, Malinda Arcidy of Bedford, NH and Louise Hatter of Lyndhurst, VA; his children, Judy Dickerson Woody (Terry) of Princeton, Jesse Maynard, Jr. of Alpoca, Cricket Harrison (Larry) of Beckley, Rusty Maynard of Alpoca and Jamie Maynard of Alpoca; his grandchildren, Steve Dickerson (Jill), Missy Mooney (Robert), Jeremy Maynard (Kristen), April Judy (John), Estle Harrison (Brianna), Jessica Colbird (Davey), Allison Hatfield (James) and Hannah Mullins; his great grandchildren, Bryce Dickerson (Megan), Brent Meadows, Mason Meadows, Avery Mooney, Lucas Darnell (Kelsey), Micah Darnell, Alyssa Harrison, Taylor Harrison, Liam Harrison, Jesse Mullins, James Colbird, River Colbird, Skyanna Hatfield and Ruby Hatfield; and his great great grandchild Oaklynn Dickerson.
