He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur F. Byard and Ruth E. Byard (Delaney); and his wife JoAnn Byard. He is survived by: his daughter Mary Ann of East Liverpool, OH; his granddaughter Jocelyn Cantwell (Tyler Ewing) of Steubenville, OH; his great grandchildren, Cecilia and Sebastian; his sister Sally Mercer of Mannington, WV; and his close friends, Donald and Olive Seckman of Alma, WV..

Visitation was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Furbee Williams Funeral Home (7908 Middle Is Rd, Alma, WV 26320). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Shadow Lawn Memorial Garden (861 Sixth St, Newell, WV 26050).
